The policy includes eight clear aims which ensure all members of staff from the bottom to the top not only perform their duties within a safe and healthy working environment, but that they are also responsible for the maintenance of the high quality work conditions.

- Control Over Health and Safety Risks
The first aim of the Smartlift policy is to assess and provide adequate control of the unavoidable health and safety risks present in our work activities. This ensures an ongoing moderation of all activities to ensure our employees are completely safe at all times.
- Employee Input
To better achieve our first aim, our second aim is to regularly consult with Smartlift Bulk Packaging Ltd employees on all matters affecting their health and safety. This gives us insight into the inherent every day risks and keeps everybody fully aware of any relevant developments.
- Safe Equipment and Maintenance
The Smartlift policy also decrees that all plant equipment is safe to operate and is monitored via a regular maintenance schedule. All machinery deteriorates over time and with usage, so we check all our equipment regularly and repair and replace whenever necessary.
- Safe Handling of Substances
All Smartlift Bulk Packaging Ltd employees are trained to handle and use substances safely. No member of staff is allowed to undertake tasks involving substances they have not been fully trained to handle correctly.
- Employee Instruction and Supervision
As well as ensuring all substances are safely handled and used, Smartlift ensures that all employee are provided with the necessary information, instruction and supervision to carry out their duties in line with all health and safety standards.

On top of the information, instruction and supervision required to adhere to health and safety requirements, Smartlift’s dedication to health and safety ensures every single employee is competent to perform their tasks. This means adequate and ongoing training whenever necessary.
- Safe and Healthy Working Conditions
A big part of the training all Smartlift Bulk Packaging Ltd employees receive is to ensure safe and healthy working conditions are maintained at all times. This includes previously covered areas such as substance handling and equipment maintenance, but also extends to all activities, process and operations.
- Regular Policy Reviews
Finally, to guarantee we do not let our standards drop below an adequate level, Smartlift includes in the Health and Safety policy an obligation to regularly review and revise the aims of the policy as and when required.
