Economic Responsibility

Profit, people, and planet are three important commitments within our economic business responsibilities. While profits remain important, economically responsible companies also consider their impact on the environment, people, and society.

Ways in which we can achieve economic responsibility through several strategies:

Sustainable Practices: we are Implementing environmentally friendly practices, such as reducing waste and using renewable resources. This not only benefiting the planet but also cost effect for Smartlift in the long run.

Ethical Supply Chains: Our quality manager ensures that our suppliers adhere to fair labour practices, human rights standards, and environmental regulations. Our extensive research into our manufacturing suppliers to provide responsible sourcing contributes to a positive impact on society and helps maintain our company’s reputation.

Fair Wages and Benefits: Here at Smartlift we pay our employees the average living wage to enable our staff to have a comfortable level of income, we provide additional benefits and bonuses along with promoting a work-life balance. We believe a well-treated workforce is more productive and loyal, contributing to overall economic stability.

Transparency: Being a profitable company for 20 years with yearly growth, we think it’s important to be open and honest about our financial results, business practices, and decision-making. Being transparent fosters responsible behaviour and increases confidence among customers and stakeholders.

Community Engagement: This relates to our philanthropic sector, which includes collaborations, volunteering, and supporting our community. Putting money into community development promotes both social progress and economic expansion. Due to our consumers’ support of our community involvement and the advantages we provide, demonstrating our support for social and philanthropic events can help us maintain our economic success.

Long-Term Thinking: We are considering the impact of our decisions on future generations. This year we collaborated with Carbon Neutral Britain to help us not only decrease our carbon emissions but also explore strategies for offsetting the emissions we’ve generated, avoiding short-term profit maximisation at the expense of long-term sustainability.

Social Responsibility: This can link to our philanthropic responsibilities, contributing positively to society through charitable and sponsorship efforts from our company. Following our journey to more sustainable future we will continue to make a positive impact on social issues such as poverty, education, and healthcare, through corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

Economic responsibility goes beyond financial metrics—it encompasses social and environmental aspects as well, linking back to our environmental and ethical responsibilities.
